We were waiting for the start of the new season to make this announcement... We are thrilled to introduce the artists who are now joining the exceptional art makers represented by the agency.
MAYDAY / Mélanie Demers
All territories
Recipient of the 2024 National Arts Centre Award, presented as part of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards (GGPAA), Mélanie Demers turns the stage into a platform to question the role of the artist and theater, a space to collectively reflect on the fate of the world and individuals. Without adopting an accusatory tone or succumbing to sterile defeatism, she raises the alarm by highlighting the darker aspects of the human condition. Resolutely committed, her works are both cries for help and invitations to transformation. In 2007, Mélanie Demers founded the company MAYDAY in Montreal, exploring the powerful link between the poetic and the political.
